Green Bay named safest city

Green Bay has been deemed the safest place to live in the United States, according to a new survey.

The survey is based on crime statistics from before an outburst of gun violence last year in Green Bay.

A ranking by U.S. News and World Report of the largest 150 metro areas in the country placed Green Bay No. 1 among safest places to live. The ranking relied on 2018 crime data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports and found the city had lower rates of violent and property crime than the national average that year.
